[WELL. This beach sure is festooned with crabs, isn't it... And out there, vibing with some very fashionable rubber boots, is Matsui! There's a crab pot settled near some rocks which seems to be quite full already, considering there are stray crabs just. Escaping out the side every now and then. It's fine. Matsui himself is currently standing with a net over his shoulder, apparently distracted by something in a tide pool that he's peering down into. Miracles that it can even be seen past all these crabs, dang.
That said, he blinks and looks over when he notices someone else nearby, and pauses in whatever the hell he'd been doing to nod in greeting.]
[ Is Matsui ever going to start a conversation with Izuku without saying something ominous, help. Probably not, which is fine...Izuku is in less fashionable shoes - sneakers, actually, why - and also has a bucket of crabs...though he keeps returning his because he's nice like that.
Though...he also does like crab? ]
W-well, I came since they needed help...are you, uh, planning to eat all of them then...?
[At least as far as Concerning Things Matsui Says go, this is pretty light! He seems to consider the question like it hasn't occurred to him before this moment, though, but it's probably fine.]
Mm... No, I have no need for so many crabs. [He's tragically not one of the many swords who find eating a wonderful and fantastic thing to indulge in.] But I have heard that the restaurants that line the boardwalks are in need of catches, so I had intended on providing them with the bulk of it. Unless you would like to have them...?
Ah. [A nod, as if he Sees The Disconnect in communication now. Does he actually?? Jury's out.]
I see. I merely referred to it as such because we're harvesting them for one purpose or another, whether it's to sell or eat or return to the sea. Having a big feast would be a good purpose to put them toward, too.
[The fruits of their labor! Their... weird, inane, crab-based labor.]
Anyway that sounds like the sort of thing Buzen would enjoy, which means he's automatically prone to agreeing.]
I believe that would put the excess to good use. If we're to live so close to the sea, then we should make the most of what it has to offer anyway, shouldn't we?
[Even if it's SO MANY CRABS. Speaking of, a whole congaline has escaped from his crab pot by now, so he's just sloshing over there to shove a few of the more recent escapees back in...]
[Matsui is grateful for the assist, even if the crabs aren't. Or wouldn't be, if they had the little crab intelligence necessary to realize what capture could mean for them...]
I don't see why the idea would be unpopular. Even though we don't spend much time together as a group, surely there are plenty within Dodo who have formed bonds and would like to get to know the others there...
[He's once again speaking from a Buzen perspective, since he himself could truly just go his entire stay here without meeting anyone new and be fine as long as he had Buzen. Damn.]
[HELLO. DON'T DIE ABOUT A CRAB COOKOUT. This lad's truly just out here testing god every day, huh.
Matsui, who doesn't know any better, is just nodding! This sounds great!]
All the better. I don't believe any of my close acquaintances are familiar with cooking... Not to the point that they would be able to cook large batches of crabs efficiently and in a way that still tastes good, in any case.
[He hums, considering, as he casually tosses another few crabs into the bucket and then hefts the wholeass heavy thing up. Someone doesn't skip arm day.]
There do seem to be people like that. [Humans and swords...] I don't understand it in its entirety.
Humans do often make things more complex than they need to be... [It's one of the many reasons why they're SO EXHAUSTING. Why'd they have to go and make things so complicated... But he hefts the bucket up a little.]
[HELP. This would make Izuku literally like the only person here who isn't a Relevant Historical Figure to actually recognize him or his smith. Hilarious.
It earns him a faint smile, at least, as they... empty their crab pot into the CRAB BARREL. If they didn't exist before, they do now.]
Most of those who make up my own world are "plain humans" as well. It isn't typical for many of them to interact with what they tend to call the realm of spirits.
That's true. I mean - I guess "plain humans" back home in "my" Japan can be a bit - er - well, less than plain...but, sword spirits are still something I haven't gotten to experience before now!! [ HE'S THRILLED ABOUT IT ]
[SUPER POWERS... Good thing he's been here for a few months by now, so he's used to all sorts tumbling in from a vast array of worlds.]
"Quirks"... I see. It sounds as though it would be very chaotic, living among such a populace.
[Humans are already hard enough to manage and wild enough without any superpowers involved. He can feel himself aging just imagining how much harder his job would be...]
CRAB HELL CRAB HELL
That said, he blinks and looks over when he notices someone else nearby, and pauses in whatever the hell he'd been doing to nod in greeting.]
Are you also here for the harvest?
[Ominous.]

[Maybe that's why he asked??]

[ He was just trying to figure out how to take the line. ]
Since you said "harvest" I just figured...

I see. I merely referred to it as such because we're harvesting them for one purpose or another, whether it's to sell or eat or return to the sea. Having a big feast would be a good purpose to put them toward, too.

Oh! We could...maybe make a party of it?
[ Izuku, naturally wanting to invite everyone for Crabs ]

[ Surely it would be nice to hang out without a date auction, he means. Also, Izuku will troop over to help re-capture those escape artists! ]

[Swords Can't Cook (except the few who can).]

Hm...Kacchan's always been pretty good at it, so I think he'd be able to. You just have to ask him right.
no subject
Ask him right? Does he prefer to be asked in the form of haiku?
[Why is this the first thing he thinks of.]
no subject
[ In more ways that one. ]
But, no, it's more...Kacchan is like - he...sometimes you have to sort of make him think you don't want his help or don't need it...?
no subject
Mm... Contradictory? Or rather, someone who perhaps doesn't wish to be seen as overly caring or attached...?

[ Izuku has spent a lifetime trying to Get It. ]

Shall we go deliver this for now?
no subject
[ WHAT...are you, then. Izuku won't pry if it's secret, but...he does nod, and gestures for Matsui to lead the way. ]
no subject
Are you familiar with tsukumogami...? I am the blade Matsui Gou, forged by Gou no Yoshihiro.
no subject
Also he's a damn nerd so he even recognizes the blade name and etc. ]
I'm just a plain human myself, but that's cool! [ HUGE CRAB BARRELS??? idk ]
