[August is a weird month. It's that strange crash where Summer should be ending and Fall should be starting, but feels more like Summer with heat and storms while the idea is it should be cooler due to Fall. Like it can't make up its damn mind. And sometimes rains like it's fucking Spring. He likes it better than April at least? But it's not one of his favorite months because it can be such a damn wishy-washy month in terms of weather. The skies above look darker, as if there's rain on the way, and Katsuki scowls at it. Great. He's never liked the rain unless he can sleep through it.

With almost all of July's things passed and over, at least they've got a brief reprieve and moment of time to rest. He drops the curtain back in place and heads into the house, snagging his shirt off the banister where he'd set it for a moment. Swinging around to the back of the couch, Katsuki leans over the furniture and hooks his wound-up shirt over Izuku's eyes like an impromptu blindfold. A warm breath ghosts over the top of his head, mussing into the dark green tufts of hair.]

I wanna go out. Whaddya feel like hitting up the arcade and kicking some ass together?

[ Izuku doesn't mind the rain. As a kid he had because he'd spent like all his time outside but gradually it didn't matter much one way or the other to him. He'll train in bad weather or good these days. But when the sky is stormy he tends to sit inside where the lighting is good. His window seat is for when the outdoor lighting is good, but when he needs inside lighting he ends up on the couch. Reading sometimes, taking notes others in his small cramped writing he uses when he wants to maximize space.

He was writing, but he lifts his hand from the page so he doesn't mess up when cloth descends over his field of vision. ]

I haven't been in a few weeks?

[Katsuki nuzzles into the crown of his head, eyes wandering over Izuku's floating tufts and scanning along the page he was writing. He's practiced in inclement weather plenty, since he couldn't let himself get thrown off if he ever had to fight in the rain. Still not a high point on his preference list.

Because it ruined his time to play outside as a kid and could screw with his Quirk if the rain water kept washing into and diluting his sweat. Charging up in the rain was more difficult because of that, since he had to mind his hand positions more. An extra layer of effort to contend with.]

That means someone's probably knocked out your high score or it's been reset. You had a prize in mind before, right?

[ Izuku rotates through a few different notebooks depending on what he's taking notes on, though the one he carries everywhere is more eclectic now. Whichever one he's writing in now, the page is crammed with detailed plans and ideas for worst case scenarios and disasters, natural or battle or otherwise. Some of the experience from rescue work last month has been included and he notes down what he wants to look up. Just kind of nerdy preparation. He has a notebook breaking down fighting styles piece by piece with ideas on how to counter things, too. ]

The slime plushie. I don't think it should be out of stock yet...

[Katsuki isn't at all surprised at the topic. Izuku's always been someone to plan ahead and prepare for things. From the current happenings to the possible future. They were taught some of those aspects in class too. Heroes were reactionary most of the time, but they had to be ready to make informed proactive decisions as well. His eyes skim across the page, taking in keywords and ideas rather than reading every detail since Izuku can cram in so much on one page. It's impressive and crazy at the same time. The rescue work is a big area... They were so busy last month; he just wants to rest this one.

Maybe have katsudon dinner sometime in August.]

Probably not if it's as many tickets as you said. Feel like bringing it home today?

[ He's been researching medical care available in Noctium and other services too, with neat little pro and con lists scribbled down. He can't tell Katsuki is reading it when he has his eyes covered though. ]

How many tickets did you have already?

[Might be a reason he has his eyes covered, if not to just be a tease and to keep wandering his mouth across his head. Wasn't it that if you took away one sense, the other one's got heightened out of reaction or something? But he won't read over his shoulder too long, and simply goes back to messing with his hair.]

Dunno. Over 2000.

[ Izuku's hair is dry, but the weather isn't helping the curls. It's messy and he showered earlier. ]

I need 3000, so that might make it possible to reach it today with my own too...if we don't lose.

[He'll get a brush if he has to. But he doesn't have one in hand at the moment. Maybe before they head out, he'll tackle the beast.]

Psh, when the fuck have we ever lost?

[ Curly and tousled isn't tangled, at least. He shrugs, finally reaching up to push the shirt up. ]

We've never had a total loss.

[Still get the brush for a few pass throughs. Maybe he likes his fingers in Izuku's hair or something.]

Cause we work well together.

[Despite their fights. He lets the shirt get pushed away, sliding it back over Izuku's forehead and hair like a bandana before taking it off.]

Why the shirt blindfold?

[ Izuku can finally actually see Katsuki, though he tips his head back for it. ]

[Katsuki leans over him again, shirtless for now, the clothing dangling from one hand as he tilts his head and looks down at him.]

You'd've known it was me by my hands.

[Momentary dork peeking through.]

You're the only other person in the house...and no one else would be flirting with me like that.

[ At least, he wouldn't really appreciate it the same way. ]

Heh, guess next time I'll have to say "guess who" and really rub it in.

[Katsuki grins at him before leaning down and over, going to catch Izuku's lips with his own for an over-the-top kiss. Kind of fond of doing those.]

Mm, wanna get going then?

[ Honestly he can stand behind Izuku normally and probably manage it. The blindfold thing was silly but kind of interesting - it kept making Katsuki's voice feel different somehow. ]

I'll have to grab my tickets from my room real quick?

[Might have to go on his tiptoes to get his forehead, but it'd take a backbend dip to get his lips without the couch. There's an idea for later... He might bring the blindfold back at another more intimate time.]

Okay. Up you get.

[And pushes off the back of the couch.]

You have yours?

[ Probably he should also get into some going out clothes instead... ]

[Katsuki pats his pocket, already wearing a pair of dark green jeans, which soon goes with his black t-shirt.]

Yeah. Already put away.

I could have said no, you know.

[ He absolutely wouldn't have though. While he's been turning down some fancier stuff, the arcade isn't something he's ever said no to.

He dislodges a cat to go upstairs. For this, he'll go with black jeans and one of his t shirts. ]

Would you've?

[Katsuki smirks over his shoulder at him as he pulls his arm through the sleeve of his shirt. His tickets are divided into hundreds and wrapped with small rubber bands. Easier to distribute and utilize as needed.]

They got the roller skate rink there too.

[Added when Izuku returns.]

[ Katsuki doesn't seem to really buy many prizes - it's mostly Izuku who gets that kind of thing. Which is why Katsuki has 2000 and Izuku has 200...leaving 800 to go.

He ends up grabbing a flannel button down to toss over his shirt, his own tickets stowed away. ]

And laser tag and stuff, yeah.

[Yeah. He might buy things if there was hero merch here, but... Without that, there's little reason. Though if those Gem Knights are gonna be a thing, that's got some potential to catch his eye.

Katsuki drops a white overshirt on his own, very light and breezy. Still fucking muggy outside.]

We'd kick the shit out of laser tag. Unless it sucks.

[ Izuku would definitely prefer hero merchandise, but he does like dumb little toys and games. They tend to stay in his room exclusively though. ]

Have you even ever played it?

[Katsuki's picked up one or two metal puzzles, brain twisters that he probably shouldn't be playing because he's apt to break them after getting pissed.]
